NBCUniversal Evolution Plan

GTC managed the comprehensive environmental impact report (EIR) transportation and mobility study and assisted the design team with the development of several project alternatives for the NBCUniversal Evolution Plan, a multi-phased transit-oriented development (TOD) master plan that includes almost three million square feet of new studio, office, theme park, and entertainment related facilities in Universal City.

GTC worked closely with architects, engineers, NBCUniversal staff, and other qualified professionals throughout the project planning, design, and EIR effort to identify and evaluate major transportation and mobility improvements, both off-site and on-site, including the development of a comprehensive and flexible transportation demand management strategy for the entire site.

GTC also coordinated directly with Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, California Department of Transportation, City of Burbank Planning Department, and the adjacent neighborhoods and stakeholders throughout the entitlement process, taking a responsive and collaborative approach with each of those entities to ensure that each major transportation concern was addressed thoroughly through the identification and eventual implementation of thoughtful TOD elements and appropriate transportation demand management strategies.

GTC continues to work directly with NBCUniversal staff and key design team members to identify and evaluate site access and internal circulation improvements related to the development of specific projects within the NBCUniversal Evolution Plan envelope, such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.
