About the Company

Gibson Transportation Consulting, Inc. was formed in 2009 to provide the highest quality traffic engineering, transportation planning, and parking consulting services to both public and private sector clients. We offer over 125 years of collective transportation analysis experience, most of which has been gained on Southern California projects. Our emphasis is on client service, solid technical work, and strong public interaction to explain our recommendations.

We prepare traffic, transportation, and parking analyses for cities and development projects across the western United States. We specialize in the preparation of the transportation and parking sections of environmental documents for large and small development projects, general and specific plans, and regional and local transportation projects. We work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to produce clear, logical, and readable technical reports. We excel in interaction with the public and with decision-makers to explain the analyses and the mitigation programs.

Staff members have conducted transportation analyses for some of the largest and most controversial development projects in Southern California including Playa Vista, the Disneyland Resort expansion, NBC Universal Evolution Plan, Metro Universal transit-oriented development, STAPLES Center, the Los Angeles Convention Center Expansion Plan, the Bakersfield Commons Mixed-use Development Master Plan, and the Wilshire Grand Redevelopment Project in downtown Los Angeles.

Gibson Transportation Consulting is currently working on transportation studies for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and for the Master Plans for the University of Southern California, the University of Redlands, and the Huntington Library Education and Visitors Center Project. We are preparing transportation and parking studies for Westfield LLC at its regional shopping centers at The Village at Westfield Topanga, Santa Anita, Culver City, West Covina, North County, Plaza Camino Real, and University Towne Centre. We are doing the same for The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles, for The Irvine Company at Newport Fashion Island and the Irvine Spectrum Center, for RREEF/Jones Lang LaSalle at Manhattan Village, Marina Marketplace and Villa Marina, and for Macerich at Santa Monica Place, Lakewood Center, Los Cerritos Center and the Westside Pavilion.

We recently prepared the shared parking element of the award-winning FTC Specific Plan for the City of Fullerton, and we worked with the City of Buena Park planning the traffic and parking requirements for its growing E-Zone entertainment district. Other recent projects include parking and traffic studies for the Cities of Anaheim, Brea, Culver City, Pomona, San Marino, and Santa Monica. We also recently completed the traffic impact analyses for a renewable energy center in Rialto and a new studio project for Disney | ABC at its Golden Oak Ranch in the unincorporated Santa Clarita Valley area of Los Angeles County.

We have conducted traffic and parking studies and parking lot designs for the Honda Center in Anaheim, the University of Phoenix Stadium (Arizona Cardinals Stadium) and Jobing.com Arena (Phoenix Coyotes Arena) in Glendale, Arizona, LEGOLAND California theme park in Carlsbad, Huangguoshu Falls in Guizhou Province, China, and the Dubailand Theme Parks in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our financial pro forma analyses have supported the sale of parking revenue bonds for the Aquarium of the Pacific garage in Long Beach and the PETCO Park ballpark garage in downtown San Diego.

We work on a wide variety of projects that vary in both size and scope. Staff members have prepared traffic analyses for a health club in Beverly Hills, a sporting goods store in Anaheim, a multi-family housing development in Montclair, and a truck stop in Colton, as well as traffic, safety, access and circulation plans for schools and universities throughout the United States. It is our goal to effectively serve all of our clients.
